Job Summary

HeyTutor is excited to partner with multiple elementary and middle schools in New York City to provide a dedicated, passionate, and experienced ELA and math tutors for students grade levels k-8th. We are looking for individuals with a background in education, proficiency in Math and English Language Arts, and a commitment to making a positive impact on students who often face unique challenges.

This role requires someone with a bachelor’s degree, availability between 10 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and an ability to engage and inspire students to achieve their potential. This opportunity offers competitive pay at $32-$38 per hour.

You must be comfortable passing an IN-PERSON background check.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience working with elementary school and middle school students and a track record of patience, empathy, and resilience
  • Strong organizational skills to manage time and tasks efficiently
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students and school staff, working closely with educators to support student success
  • Proven ability to motivate students and instill self-confidence through structured, consistent guidance

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Fostering a supportive and balanced learning environment
  • Engage students in both individual and group sessions, using HeyTutor's curriculum and resources
  • Develop and maintain an organized and structured approach to meet students' varied learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to align tutoring strategies with classroom learning and provide feedback on student progress
  • Document student achievements and areas for improvement using the HeyTutor Dashboard
  • Support students in making positive behavioral choices and encourage their participation and improvement

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 4 hours a day, must be available between 10 am – 5 pm.

Compensation: $32-$38 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
